My Yearly Post
I guess my posting is going to become a yearly thing. It was this time last year that I last posted, and before that it had been a year. Things haven't changed a lot either. My time is still more taken with Facebook, housework, and laundry. Facebook has become my communication venue with my children and friends. It's been through Facebook and occasional texting, this summer, that I've kept up with Michael while he's been in vocal training in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. He's at Seagle Colony and loving it! They've produced 5, soon to be 6, musicals and operas. Michael's been in, "Hello Dolly," starred as Jack in "Jack & the Beanstalk" for 8 productions, was Benvolio in "Romeo & Juliet," and next week, he'll be Enoch Snow in, "Carousel." It's been intense every day with classes and rehearsals, but I believe he's discovered some things about himself and about God that he wouldn't have discovered any other way. He's still dating a precious girl, Krista, who lives in Rochester, and we'll be seeing them both next weekend for his last show and a Vespers service on Sunday. We'll all leave Monday only to say good-bye for the rest of the week as he returns to Bloomington. Michael and Asitha will drive to Little Rock the next week, and I can hardly wait! Eddie is still working at UAMS as a Tech. I wish he could realize what dramatic potential he has in that role to touch lives with the gifts God's given him, but right now, it's just tedious and difficult work. He doesn't like it and is always looking for that greener grass. At least he has insurance! I don't have any idea what he's going to do this Fall. There is a chasm between us right now that I can't seem to cross. He is so gifted, so insightful, and seems so lost and lonely. I'm praying for acute sensitivity to the Lord's direction in his life, and I'm waiting expectantly for the right door to open for him. Kevin is house-hunting again, and I'm praying for his wisdom. He's found land in Maumelle. He's found 2 house plans and has contacted a builder. He is excited, and he is the only one. We don't have the money. I'm praying for his brain to return. It's still all about surrender. It will always be about surrender.
